Fantastic bar, excellent food and awesome staff. Cannot say enough about this place. Must see for ;yourself, well worth it.
Overall, Hair of the Dog is making the most of its limited space and awkward layout. Taking over for the previous Parlay Sports Bar, Hair of the Dog has spruced up the location, adding a dog play area outside and hosting multiple events every week. With events like movie nights and performances, as well as football watch parties, they are doing well at bringing in a wide audience, beyond just the typical sports bar crowd. The large projector and theatre style seating area is perfect for such events. Yet, the layout of the bar is just plain awkward, spreading out tables over the large theatre room, hallway, and the screened patio. You end up either feeling cramped or lost in a void. Nothing in between.
Great place to watch the game. A lot of TVs, a great view from wherever you sit, a small menu but everything we tried was delicious. The wings were excellent!
I think, with some time, the food/service will be great. And, they advertise home-made wing sauces. However, their obvious unique feature is the dog play area, which is fantastic but I don't like that you can't watch the pups from your table. (Mom of an escape artist, here.) The play area is also a bit small. Oh, and I LOVE that they make homemade dog treats.
It took an hour to get our food. My medium burger was well done and dry. Two different types of fries were served without them letting us know. One fry was completely tasteless. The service was just as bad. We had two different wait staff helping a small party (5) and they were not juggling us well.
Being new, the food and drink menus are slowly expanding, but they're off to a good start. The pitcher and wing special can't be beat! I appreciate that they offer more than just the basic Miller or Bud Light and have brought in a bunch of good local beers and other craft beers.
