Great laid back place, for casual dining, overlooking Lake Jackson. Staff is friendly, oysters fresh. Good food, over all. Easy to find, just off Highway 27 North, in Tallahassee.
Giving them a two because they had oysters. The bartender was very unfriendly/rude. When I tried to order through the window the guy seemed so perturbed that the causal observer would've thought I tried to spit on his shoe. In an attempt to lighten the fellow up a little, I told him that I liked the bar so far and asked if there were any days where they offered specials on food or drinks. He responded by saying, "Glad ya like the place, and we don't give away food here. You can go somewhere else for that." That kinda did it in for me. It sucks, because I love spending money on oysters more than just about anything else and this place is pretty close to where I live. Good news though, I heard that a new oyster bar just opened on N. Monroe that doesn't charge an arm and a leg for oysters. The Wild Cajun or something. I haven't been yet, but I'm sure you'll feel more welcome there...
First time was nice, decent food and oysters, great view of the lake from the porch, pleasant service. That deserved 3.5 stars. Came in for a second time, bartender looked at us, no greeting, just uncaring and rude. We were the only customers there and the guy was a complete jerk. Walked out and haven't gone back since, and probably won't ever again, despite how much time we spend on this lake. It's not worth it
Beautiful sunsets by the lake. Beer is good and really cold. Their smoked fish dip with crackers is the best side for the beer. The lady host is always kind and funny
