Great scavenger hunt to see the museum. Very nice docents that are knowledgeable. Loved the Mock Senate session.

Place was very clean

The Florida Historic Capital Museum presents interesting exhibits on Florida history while also being a piece of history in and of itself!

We were greeted by a wonderful lady as soon as we walked in. She gave us a history lesson about the building. She was so passionate about this place that we went into every exhibit after the short intro video they have. She even gave us some coloring books for kids .

The former Florida capital is a gorgeous example of the Classical Revival architectural style and, although smaller, definitely overshadows the modern capital building behind it in its appearance. The changing exhibits inside document both the preservation of the historic capital and the history of Florida's government, especially its involvement of notable events like the Civil Rights Movement and the anti-war movement in the 1960's. The Florida Historic Capital Museum is not to be passed up if you are ever in Tallahassee.

Great place to see part of Florida's History! The building is beautifully restored, and the exhibits were just enough to learn about the past without being overwhelming. There were quite a few things for kids to do, but more hands on exhibits for kids would be great. No admission fee was an added plus!

Neat history behind it.

The original state Capitol! It is still intact, and you can explore it at your leisure for free. There are exhibits that showcase a bit if Florida history, and history of the building as well. The Senate and the house meeting rooms are still set up as they would have been, as well as the governor's office. It is a cool look into the past with a few interesting tidbits and activities, but don't expect to spend more than an hour of your time here. While you are here, make sure to check out the rest of the campus, including the current Capitol!
