Wonderful park nestled into the city. Gem of a find if you're able to get there! No playground equipment that I saw, but if your kids like nature walks they'll definitely get a kick out of this secluded park.
There is a small lake, a dinky playground, a few pavilions, a popular dog park, and a few miles worth of dirt trails. The trails and dog park are really what make the park worth coming to.
The forest houses a ton of squirrels and tiny birds, like the rest of Tallahassee. The more diverse wildlife live in the lake, which is home to a bunch of turtles, some fish, and visiting large birds. The lake also has a short boardwalk area, which is pretty nice.

Pretty nice little park. We've become regulars to the dog park. Nighttime lighting is REALLY bad though.
The dog park is large and fenced in. My puppy loves running around with the other dogs there and he was tired when we left. In order to get to the dog park you have to cross a small bridge which would be nice to have some sort of signs for. Also, there is not very much grass in the fenced in area, which makes for a dirty puppy. Overall, our experience was good and we will come back again.
The trails feature some nice hills, wooden workout aids, and winding trails under a canopy of trees. I've been here at all times of the day, and I've only ever seen 1-3 people on the trails with me. The workout areas are next to useless, but the pull-up bars are usable. Most people walk their dogs around, but the trails are also frequented by runners, walkers, and every now and then a few bikers.
It has a pretty good walking trail through the wooded area. There is also a dog park and play ground for people to play in.
