I had a wonderful past weekend. Mrs.Christine who serviced my room left it beautiful clean and omg the smell was so refreshing. If I could give 10 stars I would give her 10. Beautiful person very helpful and kind. Overall great stay.
My other issue is this was FAMU Homecoming weekend. So needless to say, Thursday came around and this hotel looked like it was trashed. I did go out and came back later that night. I saw piles of empty cups and bottles in the elevator, the lobby sounded like I was in an arena, and debris was throughout the hotel.
Different than your average hotel...in a good way! Unique lobby setting! Excellent location! Short drive to a wide variety of eateries! We really enjoyed our stay here as it is a most unique hotel with unique rooms and amenities! The staff was friendly and accomodating. Parking is readily available, although much of it is in a lower level lot with steps. The pool and outdoor fireplace is really a beautiful addition to this hidden gem in the city! Take a look at the photos I posted and you will see for yourself how nice it is.
The front desk check in procedure was easy, fast, and efficient. Going to my room I noticed that it was tidy and very clean. I did get stuff from the cafe/restaurant (Forget the actual name of it) in the morning time. The staff for the cafe were always super friendly and kind with what I wanted.
Great place pretty close to the FSU campus. My family has stayed here every move in day. They also allow dogs so I'm able to keep my dog in the room. The only problem is that the AC unit makes a lot of noise and you can hear sirens from the street boarding every night. There's also some mold growing on the soap dispensers, but it's not too much of an issue. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
I stayed at this hotel once before in 2015 and had a great stay, and I can say just as much for this time! This is a young, vibrant hotel so if you're looking for a sleepy place with a quiet lobby then you're looking in the wrong place. I honestly don't have anything but praise for this hotel. The decor in the lounge and rooms is fun and stylish, the rooms are cool (temperature wise), and the beds are more comfortable than my own! I guess if I had to complain about something, it would be the bathroom setup. A non-locking, sliding door to the bathroom doesn't feel very private to me. If you're looking for a young, comfortable hotel check this one out.
Only two issues were that maintenance could never get hot water to come to my sink. When I was up in the am, I could never get hot water to come out. Maintenance did come up while I was out of the room and left me a note saying they had hot water. The following day, I once again had not hot water coming out of my sink. I found maintenance outside and asked them to come to my room to check it, which he was extremely polite and followed me. Once again when he was checking it, it was hot. I have no idea why I could not get any hot water, but it is horrible to shave my face with cold water. It was not a boiler issue as I had hot water in the shower, just not the sink.
Overall would I stay here again? I would if the Residence Inn was not available on Gaines.
