Mavis sent me the form with a curt email from her personel Gmail account (how unprofessional!) at 5:05pm and i sent it back to her at 6:11pm. Without responding and without notifying me she canceled all of the reservations. We found this out 4 hours later when one of the responders called and was told they had no reservation.
Do not EVER stay here or give these horrible people your business. If I could give them 100 negative stars I would.
First let me say we've stayed at A LOT of Country Inn and suites. This one is by far the worst we've ever stayed at, especially for what we are paying. The elevator is slow, noisy and tiny, hardly big enough for our family of 5 and the luggage cart to fit. The front desk clerk was curt and appeared put out by my question of whether the pool was heated. One of the main reasons we booked here was not only for location to the FSU game but also for the indoor pool. Upon getting here we find out it's an outdoor pool and too cold for our boys or us to use. And disappointed no hot tub. Then there's our room. TV and lamp in living room didn't work and toilet is slow flushing. We're waiting to hear from mgmt about whether they're going to bring us a new TV or I will be requesting a new room. Not happy. This was our one little getaway with our sons for the year and I wanted everything to be excellent. Very disappointed.
Mavis should lose her job. She did not do her job and in the wake of a natural disaster 15 heroes had to sleep in their cars after traveling for 12 hours all because of her. I will shout from the rooftops this terrible experience for the rest of my days.
Very good hotel. Rooms clean and very comfortable. Compete for water pressure in the morning shower. Breakfast is great. However, they need to replace the "coffee" with coffee.
I work for a nonprofit and after Hurricane Irma we had a lot of responders heading to south Florida to help do search and rescue. Tallahassee was a stop on their extremely long journey as they were coming from all parts of the country. I booked all of the responders in the same hotel, this incompetent one.
First of all let me just say "Mavis" should not have a job. She sent me the CC authorization form which I sent her back pretty quickly considering the magnitude of what was happening in Florida. She NEVER gave me a deadline and since we are dealing with a natural disaster it took my organization a full hour to fill the form out and get a copy of the front and back of the credit card and cardholder ID. I explained ALL of what we were up against to the hotel. People from all over the country were flying and driving in to help the people and animals of Florida.
I immediately called and spoke with Mavis and she told me that she never received the authorization (a lie) and that the rooms were canceled at 6pm (which she never told me would happen!). She had ZERO empathy on the phone and did absolutely nothing and did not care in the least bit that these people had nowhere to sleep as EVERY hotel in Florida was booked with evacuees. She just told me to call back and speak with a manager. County Inn & Suites should be mortified that they have such a person representing their business.
This hotel charged us for having a service animal because they said we didn't make it obvious enough that we had a service animal. Our suitcases are now infested with bed bugs from the beds there. They complained about pee on the floor and blamed our service animal for it when in actuality it was from the child that we are potty training. The hotel staff had amazing customer service but the general manager and the assistant management are horrid people. We have been in constant contact with the corporate office of country inn and suites and they have been nothing but apologetic for this independently owned hotel that is not willing to compensate for our trouble. Our potty training child is severely autistic and permanently disabled. They would not allow us to stay in the hotel due to the service animal and made us leave. Every time the corporate office tried to three way call the hotel to plead for some kind of compensation the Assistant General manager would hang up. This hotel is INFESTED WITH BED BUGS and DISCRIMINATES AGAINST THOSE WITH DISABILITIES. DO NOT STAY HERE. IT IS NOT WORTH THE AFFORDABLE PRICE.
I visited my grandparents who stayed in room 305. It was very nice. The lobby is charming and the front desk clerk was very nice and professional. There's only one elevator, but the room was very accessible for my grandpa and it was very clean and well maintained.
