The problem is processes are not consistent and what he was advising me was not the process that took place when I purchased new release shoes previously. I advised him to take a communication class and acquire some customer service skills. He told me he had two degrees. I told him that so do I, MBA and MIS. Associates need to be careful as they do not know who they are speaking to on the other end of the phone.
I liked doing business with the Tallahassee, FL location until u spoke with Mike. Mike does not listen well, and he is overly sensitive. When I asked my question two different ways, he ask me what am I getting at?
Customer service suck, walked in and was not acknowledge by staff so I left.

When I first discovered Hibbett Sports I was excited. The nearest sporting good store from my house was 15 minutes away and Hibbett Sports was just around the corner. I was really excited to find a nice, clean, reasonably priced sporting goods store near my house. After that initial visit I went back and bought a NIKE golf hat for around $20. Later that day I was convinced to return the hat, my family and I were going on vacation later that week and the money could be spent on something I may want on said vacation. Two days after I made the decision to return the hat I popped into the store on my way to run a few errands to return the hat. I told a saleswoman that I wanted to return the hat and she said she couldn't perform any returns because the amount in the cash register was low. I've never worked in retail so I had no idea what this meant. She said that I should try another store(all of which are on the other side of the city and a long drive from my house), that I should come back tomorrow, or that I could try coming in later in the day after people had purchased items from the store. I explained that I was going on vacation and would not be in town tomorrow, she shrugged her shoulders in response. I thanked her and left the store, planning on returning later in the day. I returned to the store six hours later hoping that I would be able to return the hat. The woman recognized me and off the bat said she couldn't accept the item, despite the fact that there was someone buying NIKE tennis shoes in front of me. When it was my turn the saleswoman said she needed to check the balance of the cash register and call her manager. She proceeded to call her manager and I got the same response from her, go to another store or return tomorrow. All in all, Hibbett Sports has lost myself and my family as customers. No one wants a store that seems to have a good return policy but doesn't accept returns when the item is in perfect condition due to cash problems. I would rather drive to Academy Sports and Outdoors and buy any future items from them, they have very good customer service and there are always coupons and good items in the sales rack.
Hibbetts is always underrated. They have great merchandise with great deals through the year. They carry the same great products as most shoe stores and athletic stores. They have high end merchandise along with merchandise for the frugal soul. I have grabbed a pair of space jams and retro 5 gold medals from here. The staff has been really helpful every time I have came in. I would say they are not always the most knowledgeable, but they have always been nice and willing to help. love staff that wants to help but not overbearing. love the FSU sales after the season.
