Had lunch here for the first time and it was delicious. I had the Chipotle pork chops that were on special; with double mixed veggies on the side. Very friendly service and good speed with lunch rush. I am impressed.
Was greeted at the door, seated, got our drinks and never heard back from any of the 3 waitresses that were around us. Left money on table for the drinks, left a note and left. Went up the road to Gordo's and had a great lunch.
I've had better black beans out of a can, the pork was very good. Kind of pricy for Cuban food, normally rice and beans keep price low, not here. 3rd out of 3 Cuban places in town.
We ordered for takeout just to try because Habanas has some really good reviews. The chicken empanadas were great. I was, however, disappointed with the Calamar Frito. The online menu shows it as a simple plate of Calamar with dipping sauce. There was maybe 10 pieces of Calamari on top of cold iceberg lettuce with some onions and parsley thrown on top. Of course, that made the fried Calamari soggy and room temperature. We may try eating here again, hopefully sitting down to eat will provide better results.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I understand one negative experience may not be indicative as to the normal experience with an establishment, however this was my most recent experience. My husband and I who was in his duty uniform still, visited this establishment and were told to move to another table that was dirty and by the door. We politely declined and left. We were not greeted initially and had to find our seat in addition to the embarrassment of being asked to move with a small child to a table by the door. We will spread the word among the military community that our patronage is not appreciated at this establishment.
