What a wonderful time and great food. We felt try welcomed and staff really went beyond the usual "Get 'em in, get 'em out" experience. We look forward to spending many more mealtime delights with them.
I have no idea what was going on in the kitchen, maybe, the cook quit. We arrived at 6 pm, not crowded at all and we were greeted and seated promptly.
Our server Ben was absolutely fantastic tonight. I haven't had such wonderful service in quite sometime and tonight, Ben definitely exceeded those expectations. Good food, excellent service. I definitely recommend this place and I recommend anyone to ask for Ben to be their server. The employees have very good hospitality.
I had a wonderful time down in Tallahassee this past week for work which was highlighted by my visit to Saltwater. I had a new smoked salmon BLT that was outstanding! OYSTERS OMG! A very good value and welcome addition to my consistent trips to Tallahassee.
Nothing special. We wanted to give it a try but it wasn't long before we started thinking about leaving to go to one of the better places in town (of which there are many.) Not a welcoming atmosphere when we walked in. Very frigid service. If it wasn't for the quality of the food / ingredients, we would have left before ordering the main meals - the fried oysters were very good. Not worth another visit though. I'd much rather make the trip to Apalachicola for my fresh oysters and seafood.
We waited for about 10 minutes before a server ever greeted us, saying Beowulf be right with us. After about 10 minutes or so, he returned & took our drink orders. Prior to him arriving, a gentleman came over and said someone would be over, something about the kitchen getting a slow start. When our server finally arrived with our drinks, he proceeded to tell us about the biodegradable paper straws, should we want one....at the moment, not really high on our list with the bad start. Our order (4 of us) went in at 7:20 pm, our salads arrived at 7:50. Our meals were served at 8:10 pm. and we're not hot, barely warm. We probably had not been to this restaurant in about 3 months, not sure what changed, e.g., management, whatever, who knows.....but we won't be back for some time, if ever.
