I was WRONG! I explained to the rep at the counter that I was bringing her a problem that was not of her making, but that I hoped she could help me. She immediately brought in a co-worker and they explained again that the transponders are matched to the plates of the vehicles so I'd need a new vehicle with its own transponder. And that's when their Manager walked up! After explaining everything to him, he asked if he could see the van. We walked outside together and his exact words to me were "I like to stay focused on what I CAN do for you and not on what I can't." WOW! Then he saw I wasn't exaggerating about the van being packed solid.

I learned during that time that this man Richelieu Wiles- his official title is Location Manager I - was from Ghana and is completing his MBA this February. Hertz should do everything in their power to keep him in the family! His attitude was so positive (especially during a very hectic week!) His staff was so positive and pleasant - a marked difference from other rental car counters I've visited - and they obviously cared, like he did, that I was able to get home fast and safely. I'll be sending this review to Hertz and any other site I can find!
It was definitely fast and efficient service in the car was very clean and well taken care of we'll definitely highly recommend using them to anybody and we will use them again ourselves
He drove me in the van back to the rows of vehicles ready to drive away, coordinated with another employee to find me a slightly larger van with a transponder in it, called in the help of three other men and together they fully unloaded my van and reloaded the new van in ten minutes! THEY WERE WONDERFUL! He then had all of the paperwork prepared for me and brought to the exit booth and escorted me there so I could leave without revisiting the counter up front!
I have been a frequent patron of Hertz for a while. Employees like Raven motivate my family and to seek rentals from your company. Raven is always professional, attentive, and helpful when providing the desired service. She makes the car rental experience quick and easy. Every company would benefit from the kind of professional service she provides!! Raven is an awesome employee and represents your company with excellence!!

If there were more stars I'd give them one hundred! When renting a minivan in Tallahassee, FL to move our daughter home from college I specifically told the polite, professional counter rep that I'd need the correct toll pass in the car to get me through all of the various tollbooths, bridges and tunnels between Florida and home in New York. He replied that I'd have no problem because the car was equipped with PlatePass which allowed me to pass through the speed lanes at lower fees than the Cash lanes. He probably had not driven outside Florida. So we loaded that van from the floor to the ceiling; there wasn't one spare inch of wiggle room!

When it was my turn to drive, I examined the PlatePass sticker on the windshield but it did not include the states of Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey or New York! Upon checking the PlatePass website, I learned that I needed a transponder box (like our EZ Pass or I-Pass up north) to pass through those four states. So I called Hertz where the Roadside Assistance phone rep told me I could not get a transponder for the vehicle I was driving because they are assigned to each vehicle's license plate. I'd need to get an entirely different vehicle. When I reiterated that I had a FULLY packed mini van, she said then I could "always just use the cash lanes" so I knew she was not from the NY/NJ area! I phoned ahead to the Baltimore Airport (BWI) Hertz location and attempted to speak with a rep there, but had to leave a voice message. (This is three days before Christmas!) So when I arrived at the counter at BWI, I had little hope of a positive solution.
